What is Going on at BGP?

Hi Guys! 

I realize I have a lot of new fans that really don't know what *I* am about. I also wanted to share some news about my availability. 

As most of you are aware I photograph Monday through Friday AM. I also photograph ONE weekend a month. It is important to book your session in advance. I rarely photograph evenings or lots of weekends unless it is the busy Fall season.

My family just sold our home {don't worry, this is a local relocation}. So the next few months my schedule will only allow limited sessions so that I can focus on finding a new home for my family and get everyone adjusted to the change. My son, being a kindergartner now, will have the summer off and I am going to choose to spend as much time as I can with him. So my schedule will only allow limited sessions. If you WANT my services then PLEASE reserve in advance. Reserving in advance also gives you time to save for quality portraiture. 

This little thing called photography is so misunderstand these days. I have amazing clients and I truly feel that everyone respects my work once you have worked with me. Every once in awhile I get on a string of connections with new fans that are confused by professional photography - I don't really blame them. 

I blame the hobby photographers that charge pennies for a session and deliver really bad images - it has changed the entire face of PROFESSIONAL portraiture. Please do not berate me or attempt to make me feel bad for running a business that charges for the services I provide {yes, this is happening}. If you like my work but don't want to pay my fees - that's perfectly fine and I understand completely. But please do not tag other local photographers on my images asking them to re-create {aka copy} it for you. Because most likely - they can't. They have their skill level, equipment, and style. I have mine. If you like my work - book a session with me - save up for it - invest - LOVE your images for a lifetime.

My name is Brandy and I own Brandy Goldenberg Photography, LLC. I'm located in Governor Square off University. I photograph: |Modern Glam/Boudoir | Maternity | Newborns | Baby/Child Milestones | Family | Engagement | Fine Art Fairy Portraiture | Adding Weddings. 

I am originally from Southern Iowa. Lived in Missouri, Kansas, NYC, and NJ. My family settled in Urbandale a few years ago. My husband and I have a kindergartner and a 2 year old. 

I purchased my first DSLR {an entry level every day consumer camera} about 6 years ago. I kept it on 'AUTO' mode for a really ... really ... really long time. Then I grew. I took classes. I was mentored. I read a lot. I took workshops. I began photographing for others. I took more workshops. I grew. I purchased a professional grade DSLR {that does not come with an auto feature ha}. I took more workshops. I learned to edit with proper software. I took more workshops. My equipment grew to professional grade. My editing skills advanced. My posing skills advanced. My client list grew. I took more workshops. I opened my studio to the public about 3 years ago. It was in my home. I loved having my business in my home. My client list grew. My skill level advanced. My client list grew. I moved my studio into a brick and mortar studio located in Governor Square. 

I love what I do. I love creating art. I don't 'snap a few' pictures. I am not a box store photography studio. I have a style that I like to maintain in my images. I prefer to style a session with the outfits and props. I am more inclined to love an image of a child that is not saying cheese and smiling big into my camera - I prefer the natural look - the look that shows you their soul - I want an image to be about emotion and not just a quick smile. I know most parents love the latter {and truth be told ... I enjoy having images with big cheesy smiles of my kids too}. 

My time, skill level, equipment, and style are valuable. Your time and money are valuable. This relationship between photographer and client is a dance of respect and appreciation.

If you don't love my style - please do not book with me. I want you to love your images and experience with BGP.  Please do not message me with a two word email of: "how much" .... HOW MUCH does not tell me anything about you or what you need, it does not tell you anything about me, my services, my studio, my style, or what I can provide you. It does not tell you if we are a good fit to work together. You should love your images - that doesn't mean they have to be photographed by me. Select a photographer that has a style that you love. Quality and beautiful photography come cheap to no one. Save. Invest. Appreciate. Enjoy.
