FOR IMMEDIATE INFORMATION ON SCHEDULING a fairy portrait session visit my website: www.brandygoldenbergphotography.com - on the home page you will find a link for FAIRY PORTRAITURE.
For awhile I have wanted to add Fairy Portraiture to my studio. For me, the key was to create art - not cheesy fairy photos {google fairy photos - you will see a lot of cheese}.
I currently have invested in 10 dresses that girls can select from {and plan to continue to add more}. The dresses come in several different styles, colors, and each has their own special embellishments and name {oh yes, they have a name - little girls love selecting the dress and then having a name for that dress}. I have both digital wings that I can apply to the portrait if the little fairy doesn't want to wear wings or is uncomfortable wearing wings, or if the little girl prefers she can wear a set of wings that I have in studio {we have several colors and styles - from simple but colorful wings purchased at a craft store to those that have been handmade and range in price from $100-$300}.
You can choose to add-on a GLAM service which includes: a few curls in the hair, sparkles for the cheeks, lip gloss, and nails painted. This is part of the experience that she will talk about over and over again.
For birthday party portrait sessions I recommend that the child be at least 4. If the child is younger then we can consider just having the portrait experience without the party {reducing the stimulation}.
I recently hosted seven 5 year old girls for a birthday party. The studio was set-up with a party room, decorated with sparkles, twinkle lights, organza, and tulle. A table was fully set including a centerpiece. The little girls enjoyed petite sandwiches, a cup of twigs (pretzel sticks} and berries, fairy punch, macarons, cupcakes, and of course a birthday cake.
They feasted, laughed, and played in between selecting their fairy dresses - having their hair curled - and portraits captured. We photographed each girl individually and then photographed the group. Birthday girl received an extra pose. In between photographing the fairies individually, I also capture candid images of them enjoying their party.
After the portraits were captured, the girls returned to their street clothing and opened birthday presents.
As a gift they each received a personalized fairy cookie and a little necklace with fairy dust. Below are some candids from the party.

I reached out to one of the best fairy portrait artist in the industry and invested in her workshop and mentoring.
My daughter was the first to be transformed into a beautiful fairy. I wanted magical, beautiful, and alluring in this art.
Note that with these portraits, the beauty and magic comes from the child using their imagination and being in awe, not requiring them to look at the camera and say cheese.

Creating portraits ... art ... doesn't end the moment you press the shutter button on the camera. For me, that is just the beginning. Every image that I capture is in a RAW/NEF format. I do this so that I have all the available data in an image and can adjust that data as needed. Every image is then hand-edited to have the precise look I had in my mind when I pressed that shutter button.
Fine Art Fairy Portraiture begins with a more elaborate set-up than my typical studio sessions. The work isn't in the photographing time but in the investment of the set, dresses, set-up time, clean-up time, and then post production to create a beautiful piece of art. Each fairy portrait takes between 60-120 minutes of editing or painting. Instead of a paint brush, I have a cursor that allows me to detail every aspect of the portrait - creating that magical feel.

The fairy sessions are meant to be an experience. An experience that your little girl and her friends won't forget. Although this session can be for just one special girl - it is also a lot of fun for girls to experience with their friends or in celebrating a birthday.
The age range allowed for this session is less about their actual age and more about their personality. If you have a 2 year old that loves to play dress-up, pose, and is fairly easy going and cooperative then I would be delighted to transform them into a beautiful fairy. Likewise, for some 10 year olds this might be something that they are no longer interested in but for others it can be exactly what they would enjoy.
Here are portraits of a 9 month old, 2 year old, and an 8 year old. All three enjoyed their experience save maybe for the 9 month old - she didn't really know what was going on.

In the mail, each little girl received a print of their portrait along with the group portrait. Birthday girl received an extra print as well as a little album of all the images both candids and portraits. Below are some of the images from that party {note that the brown matting was not part of the portrait}.
